The subscription widget is not displayed in my store
You set up an offer, but the widget (your subscription options, your bundle options, or both) does not show on your product page? In most cases one of these is the reason:
- The widget was never switched on in your live theme, usually because Save was not clicked in the theme editor.
- The offer is in Draft, or the product is not in the offer's Applies to list.
- The product is sold out, or its subscription is limited to some customers.
- You are looking at the theme editor preview, a cached page, or a page that is not a product page.
Work through the steps below in order. Each one takes a minute.

Step 1: Turn on the widget in your live theme
The widget is switched on by the Supr Bundle & Subscriptions app embed in your theme.
- In the app, open Design. If you see a Your widgets are not live yet banner, the widget is off.
- Click Enable widget, then Enable. Your theme editor opens with the switch turned on.
- Click Save in the top right corner of the theme editor. This is the step most often missed: if you close the editor without saving, the widget stays off.
To check by hand, go to Online Store > Themes, click Customize on your live theme, open App embeds (the icon at the bottom of the left sidebar) and make sure Supr Bundle & Subscriptions is on. This video shows where it is:
Once it is on, the widget places itself above the add to cart button on every product page. There is nothing to drag. Full steps: How to Enable the Subscription Widget in the Online Store.
Step 2: Check the offer is Published and includes the product
- Open Offers in the app and click the offer.
- In the side card, check Status is Published. A Draft offer is taken off all its products and shows nothing on your store. (Existing subscribers keep renewing.)
- Under Applies to, check the product is included: directly (Specific products), through one of the Specific collections, or with All products. If the offer shows This offer applies to nothing, pick at least one product or collection.
- If you changed anything, click Save. If a red Your subscription options are not live yet banner appears when you save, Shopify refused the save and none of the offer's subscription options are live. The banner says why. Fix what it names and save again, or contact support with the message.
For a subscription offer you can also check from Shopify's side: open the product in Products in your Shopify admin and scroll to the Purchase options card. It should list a Supr Bundles & Subscriptions purchase option. (A Bundle offer with no subscription options adds nothing to that card, so use the offer's Applies to list instead.)
A product that is only in the offer as part of a bundle option (a pick in a build-a-box, or an item in a fixed bundle) does not show that offer's subscription on its own product page. Add it to Applies to if you also want to sell it on its own. For bundle options that do not show, see Bundle options are not showing on the product page.
Step 3: Check the product can be bought
- Stock. If the product (or the selected variant) is sold out and is not set to Continue selling when out of stock, customers cannot buy it. Depending on your theme, the subscription choices are then hidden or shown as sold out. Add stock, or turn on Continue selling when out of stock in the product's Inventory section, and check again.
- Shopify Bundles products count as sold out when any of their component products is sold out.
- Only the subscription says sold out while one-time purchase works: a subscription shipping profile that holds this product has no location it ships from, so Shopify refuses subscription orders for it. In your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Shipping and delivery, open that profile (Shopify shows a warning on it) and turn on at least one location. If you do not need separate subscription rates, you can instead delete the profile: in the app under Settings > Shipping if the app created it, otherwise in Shopify's shipping settings. See Shipping Settings.
Step 4: Check who can see the subscription options
A subscription option can be limited to some customers. If every subscription option on a product is limited, a visitor who does not qualify sees no subscription at all.
- Open Offers, click the offer and open a subscription option.
- Under its main fields, each of the option's other settings is a small chip that names it and, once it is on, shows On or its value. Clicking a chip opens the option's Additional settings section with that setting expanded.
- Check Customer eligibility. If it is on, Who can subscribe decides who sees the option: All logged-in customers, Customers with at least one of these tags, or Customers without any of these tags. Log in to your store with a customer account that qualifies to see it, or turn Customer eligibility off.
- In an offer with bundle options, also check Restrict to specific bundle options. With it on, the subscription option only shows while one of the ticked bundle options is selected, and with none ticked it shows nowhere.
On the Design page, the Hide when single option setting (under Add-on settings) hides the widget whenever a product has only one choice to offer, for example one subscription option with the one-time purchase row hidden. Turn it off if you want the widget to show in that case.
Step 5: Check the page you are looking at
- Look at the live page, not the theme editor. The theme editor shows unsaved changes, a product of its own choosing, and notices that never reach your store, such as Nothing to show yet: ... is not part of a bundle/subscription offer. Open the product page on your store itself.
- Rule out an old copy of the page. Reload the product page, or open it in a private (incognito) window.
- Check it is the right product. Open a product you know is in a Published offer.
- Product pages only, unless you place the block. The app embed shows the widget on product pages (their address contains
/products/). On the home page, a collection page, a landing page or a blog post, add the Subscriptions + Bundles block in a Featured product section and set its Product. See Showing the widget on other pages. - Quick add popups on collection pages only show the widget on some themes. See Quick add and quick view popups.
- Page builders. Product pages built with PageFly, GemPages or Shogun get the widget from the app embed. On a builder's landing page, add the block through the builder's app block element. See PageFly and other page builders.
- Other product templates. If you added the Subscriptions + Bundles block to one product template but turned the app embed off, products using any other template show nothing. Keep the app embed on: it covers every template.
Step 6: Check your plan's subscription limit
If your store has more active subscriptions than your plan includes, the widget is hidden on your storefront until you upgrade. The app shows a Subscription limit reached banner, and the theme editor shows a red notice in place of the widget. Click Upgrade plan in the banner, or go to Billing. Plans and their limits are listed on the pricing page and on Billing in the app.
Step 7: Contact support
If you have been through every step and the widget still does not show, a theme setting or another app is most likely in the way. Send us a chat message with the link to the product page. If your store is password protected, include the password (how to find it). We may also send you a collaborator request so we can look at your theme, see Giving our support team access to your store.
The widget shows but there is no add to cart button
The widget does not have an add to cart button of its own. It uses your theme's, so your product template must keep the theme's Buy buttons block.
- Go to Online Store > Themes and click Customize.
- Open the product template your product uses (for example Products > Default product).
- In the product information section, look for Buy buttons. If it is hidden (crossed-out eye icon), show it. If it is missing, click Add block and add Buy buttons. A plain Button block is not the same thing and will not add to cart.
- Click Save.
The same applies to a Featured product section on another page: it needs its own Buy buttons block. Without an add to cart button on the page, the widget also cannot find where to sit and may appear at the bottom of the page.
Common questions
I enabled the widget, but the app still says it is not live. Why?
The theme editor was most likely closed without clicking Save. Click Enable widget again and click Save at the top right of the theme editor.
Why does my widget show in the theme editor but not on my store?
The theme editor shows changes that are not saved yet. Click Save, then reload the product page on your store, ideally in a private window.
Why does the subscription show on one product but not another?
The other product is not in a Published offer, is sold out, or its subscription options are limited by Customer eligibility. Check Step 2 to Step 4 for that product.
Some of my subscription frequencies are missing. Why?
Each subscription option is a frequency. A missing one is usually limited by Customer eligibility or by Restrict to specific bundle options (it only shows with certain bundle options selected). Both are chips on the subscription option: click one to check it.
How do I hide an offer from my store for a while?
Set its Status to Draft and save. It disappears from all its products, and existing subscribers keep renewing. Set it back to Published to show it again.
The theme editor shows "Bundle block (deprecated)". Is that why nothing shows?
No. That old block shows nothing on your live store. Remove it, and make sure the Supr Bundle & Subscriptions app embed is on (Step 1).
Can I show the widget on my home page or a landing page?
Yes, with the Subscriptions + Bundles block in a Featured product section. See Showing the widget on other pages.
It says sold out, but the product is in stock. Why?
If only the subscription is refused, a subscription shipping profile has no location to ship from. See Step 3.
