# What happens when you uninstall the app

Uninstalling Supr Bundles & Subscriptions **stops all subscription renewals** and removes the app from your storefront. Your existing subscribers are not charged again and are left without an app managing their subscription, so decide what should happen to them before you uninstall. This article explains what changes, what to do first, and what happens if you reinstall later.

### What happens to your subscriptions

* **Renewals stop.** The app deactivates your active and paused subscriptions, so no renewal is charged and no renewal order is created while the app is uninstalled.
* **Renewal emails stop** too, including the upcoming renewal reminders.
* **The subscriptions still exist in Shopify**, on your customers' records, together with your past orders. But in Shopify only the app that created a subscription can bill it, so nothing charges them while this app is gone, and another app cannot simply take them over.
* **Customers can no longer manage them**, because the subscription portal is part of the app.

### What happens to your storefront

Shopify removes the app's parts from your theme automatically: the subscription widget, the bundle options and the app embed stop showing on your product pages, so shoppers can no longer start a subscription or buy a bundle through the app. You do not need to edit your theme.

The app's bundle discounts stop applying as well, because they run through the app.

### What happens to your settings

* **Your offers are kept** on our side, so they are still there if you reinstall.
* **Your Design page settings, widget labels and translations are removed.** They are stored with the app installation in Shopify, which is deleted on uninstall, so a reinstall starts from the default design.
* **Your sender email address is cleared** if the app stays uninstalled for more than about two days. After a reinstall your emails then come from the Supr sender until you enter your own address again under **Settings > Notifications**.

This is why uninstalling and reinstalling is not a good way to fix a problem. Contact support in the live chat instead, and we will look into it.

### Before you uninstall

* **Moving to another subscription app?** Export your subscriptions first from **Subscriptions > Export** (see [Exporting subscription contracts](/en-us/article/exporting-subscription-contracts-1y8oa9w/)) and follow the new app's migration steps. Keep this app installed, and billing, until the new app has imported your subscribers and is ready to bill them. Otherwise your subscribers go unbilled in between.
* **Stopping subscriptions altogether?** Cancel them first, and let your customers know, so nobody is left with a subscription that silently stops.
* **Just want to stop selling subscriptions for a while?** You do not need to uninstall. Set your offers to **Draft** in **Offers** to take them off your products. Existing subscribers keep renewing.

### If you reinstall the app

When you reinstall, a **Subscription contracts need to be reactivated** banner appears on **Home** and on **Subscriptions**. Click **Reactivate subscriptions** to put every subscription back to the status it had before you uninstalled (active or paused) and resume billing.

||| **Check next billing dates before you reactivate.** A subscription whose next billing date passed while the app was uninstalled is charged soon after you reactivate it. Change any dates you want to move from the subscription's **Upcoming renewals** card with **Edit schedule**.

After reinstalling, also:

* Turn the widget on again from **Design > Enable widget**, and set up your design again.
* Check **Settings > Notifications** and enter your own sender address again if it was cleared.
* Open your offers and check they still list their products. If an offer looks empty, contact support before changing it.

### Common questions

* **If I delete the app, is everything removed from my product pages?**
Yes. Shopify stops showing the widget, the bundle options and the app embed as soon as the app is uninstalled. You do not need to remove anything from your theme.
* **Will my subscribers keep being charged after I uninstall?**
No. Renewals stop when the app is uninstalled, and they only resume if you reinstall and reactivate your subscriptions.
* **Can I move my subscriptions to another app after uninstalling?**
Export them before you uninstall, and keep the app installed until the new app is ready to bill them. Only the app that created a subscription can bill it, so ask your new app how they import subscriptions.
* **Will I lose my design if I reinstall?**
Yes, your Design page settings, labels and translations start from the defaults after a reinstall. Your offers are kept.
* **I uninstalled by mistake. What now?**
Reinstall the app, check next billing dates, click **Reactivate subscriptions**, and turn the widget back on from **Design**. Contact support if anything looks wrong.
* **Will I still be charged for the app?**
Shopify ends the app's plan charges when you uninstall it.
