# [Video Guide] How to Make a Product Subscription Only

Some products only make sense as a subscription: a box, a membership, a refill. This video shows how to take the one-time purchase option away so subscribing is the only way to buy.

### The short version

The product must already be part of a [subscription offer](/en-us/article/a-beginners-guide-to-subscription-offers-1ey00x7/). Then:

1. Open the product in your Shopify admin.
2. In the **Purchase options** section, check **Only sell this product as a subscription**.
3. Click **Save**.

This also blocks one-time checkout links and third-party apps. In the offer's product list, the product now shows a **Subscription-only** badge.

### Only hiding the one-time row

If you just want to steer shoppers towards subscribing, without Shopify enforcing it, hide the one-time purchase row in the offer instead:

1. Go to [**Supr Bundles & Subscriptions > Offers**](https://admin.shopify.com/apps/super-subscriptions/app/offers) and open the offer.
2. Click the **eye** icon on the **One-time purchase** row. It now shows a **Hidden** badge.
3. Click **Save**.

This hides the row on every product the offer covers. It is only a visual nudge: direct add to cart links and other apps can still buy the product once. To keep one-time buying but open on a subscription, click **Make default** on a subscription option instead.
