# The subscription widget appears twice or at the bottom of the page

Seeing the widget **twice** on a product page, **at the very bottom** (in or near the footer), or somewhere else you did not expect? This guide explains how the widget picks its place and how to fix each case. The short version: keep the **Supr Bundle & Subscriptions** app embed on, and use the **Subscriptions + Bundles** block only where you want an exact position.

### How the widget chooses its place

* **The app embed** (**Supr Bundle & Subscriptions** under **App embeds** in your theme editor) is how the widget is switched on. It places the widget on every product page, directly above the theme's add to cart button, on its own. This is what **Design > Enable widget** turns on.
* **The Subscriptions + Bundles block** is optional. Add it to a template when you want the widget in an exact spot, or on a page that is not a product page.
* **One widget per product.** When a **Subscriptions + Bundles** block is on the page, the embed's copy of the widget removes itself. Having the block and the embed on together does not cause duplicates, so there is no need to turn the embed off.

|| Do not turn off the app embed to fix a duplicate. It is what switches the widget on, and some add to cart features only work with it on.

### The widget appears twice

A second copy almost always comes from a block added more than once, or from a second picker that is not ours.

**1. Look for a second Subscriptions + Bundles block**

1. Go to **Online Store > Themes** and click **Customize**.
2. Open the product template your product uses with the selector at the top of the editor (for example **Products > Default product**).
3. In the left sidebar, look through every section for **Subscriptions + Bundles**. It can sit in the product information section and also in another section on the same page.
4. Keep the one in the position you want and delete the others (click the block, then **Remove block**).
5. Click **Save**, then reload the product page on your store.

Check each product template you use. Two blocks on the same template always show two widgets, because a merchant can do that on purpose (for example two different products on one page).

**2. Check the second picker is really ours**

If the second copy looks different from your design on the **Design** page, it comes from somewhere else:

* **Another subscription or bundle app** that is still installed, or left code in your theme after it was uninstalled. Turn off its app embed or block in the theme editor, or ask that app to remove its code.
* **Your theme's own purchase options.** Some themes can show subscription choices by themselves. Look for a purchase options or subscriptions setting in the theme's product section and turn it off.
* **A page builder section** (PageFly, GemPages, Shogun) with its own app block element for the widget, placed on a product page that also has one in the theme. Keep one.

|| Seeing **Bundle block (deprecated)** in your theme editor? That old block shows nothing on your live store, so it is not your duplicate. You can remove it to tidy up.

### The widget appears at the bottom of the page

The app embed looks for your theme's add to cart button and moves the widget above it. If it cannot find one, the widget stays where Shopify first puts it, at the end of the page. That happens when:

* **The product template has no Buy buttons block.** Without an add to cart button there is nothing to sit above, and shoppers cannot add to cart either. Add the **Buy buttons** block back in the theme editor. See [The widget shows but there is no add to cart button](https://supr-bundles-and-subscriptions.crisp.help/en-us/article/the-subscription-widget-is-not-displayed-in-my-store-1w34x11/#3-the-widget-shows-but-there-is-no-add-to-cart-button).
* **The product page is built with a page builder or custom code** whose add to cart button is not a standard Shopify one.
* **Your theme is heavily customised** and its buy area does not look like a Shopify theme's.

**The fix:** place the widget yourself with the block. Open the product template in the theme editor, click **Add block > Apps > Subscriptions + Bundles**, drag it above the buy buttons and click **Save**. The block takes over from the embed on that template, so the copy at the bottom goes away. On a page builder page, add the block through the builder's app block element. If you would rather we do it, contact support with the product link and we will set the position for your theme.

### Moving the widget to a different spot

With the app embed alone, the widget always sits directly above the add to cart button. To put it anywhere else, for example below the price or under a reviews line:

1. Go to **Online Store > Themes** and click **Customize**.
2. Open the product template (for example **Products > Default product**).
3. Click **Add block > Apps > Subscriptions + Bundles** in the product information section, or find the block if it is already there.
4. Drag it where you want it. Just above **Buy buttons** is the most visible spot and usually converts best.
5. Click **Save**.

Good to know:

* **The block moves the widget on every product that uses that template.** You do not set it per product. If you use several product templates, repeat on each one where you want the new position; templates without the block keep the automatic position.
* **Bundle options above or below the subscription options** is set in the app on **Design > Elements > Page layout > Bundle on top**.
* **Space above and below the widget** is set on **Design > Spacing > Around the widget**.
* **The widget looks squeezed into a narrow column** or sits beside the add to cart button: place it with the block as above, or contact support and we will fix the position for your theme.

### Still stuck?

If the widget is still misplaced or doubled, particularly on a **page builder** product page (PageFly, GemPages, Shogun) or a custom theme, send us a chat message with the product link (and your storefront password if the store is locked). We will position it for your theme. No code is needed on your side.

### Common questions

**Why does my widget show twice on the product page?**
The **Subscriptions + Bundles** block was added twice (check every section of the product template), or the second picker comes from another app or from your theme. The block and the app embed together never cause it.

**Should I turn off the app embed to remove the duplicate?**
No. Keep the **Supr Bundle & Subscriptions** app embed on and remove the extra block instead. The embed already steps aside wherever a block is on the page.

**Why does my widget show at the bottom of the page, below the footer?**
The widget could not find your theme's add to cart button. Check the **Buy buttons** block is on the product template, then place a **Subscriptions + Bundles** block above it, or contact support.

**How do I move the widget above the add to cart button?**
With the app embed on, that is where it goes by itself. If you added a block lower down, drag the block above **Buy buttons** and click **Save**.

**Do I have to move the widget on every product?**
No. A block belongs to a product template, so moving it moves the widget on every product using that template.

**How do I put the bundle options below the subscription options?**
Turn off **Design > Elements > Page layout > Bundle on top** and save.

**My theme editor calls it "Subscriptions (1.0 themes only)". Is that the same thing?**
Yes. That was the old name of the **Supr Bundle & Subscriptions** app embed. Keep it on.
