# Pause Supr

Sometimes you need Supr Bundles & Subscriptions to step back for a while without uninstalling it: a theme change you want to test, a sale where you only sell one-time, or a stock problem that means you cannot ship renewals. **Settings > Pause Supr** has two switches for that. They work separately, so you can use one or both.

## Turn off the storefront

Go to **Supr Bundles & Subscriptions > Settings > Pause Supr** and click **Turn off storefront** under **Storefront**, then confirm.

While the storefront is off:

- Shoppers see no subscription widget and no bundle options on any page. You do not need to edit your theme or switch off the app embed.
- Bundle discounts stop applying at checkout, including on carts that already hold a bundle.
- Your offers, widget designs and settings stay exactly as they are.
- Existing subscriptions keep renewing as usual, and customers can still manage them in the customer portal.

In the theme editor you see a note in place of the widget, reminding you that Supr is turned off. Shoppers never see it.

**Good to know:** a product you sell on subscription only cannot be added to the cart while the storefront is off, unless your theme shows its own subscription options. Shopify still offers the subscription to a theme that asks for it, because your subscription options stay attached to the product.

To bring everything back, click **Turn storefront back on**. It takes a few seconds to reach your storefront.

## Freeze renewals

Under **Renewals**, click **Freeze renewals** and confirm.

While renewals are frozen:

- No subscription is charged and no renewal order is created.
- Failed payments are not retried, and renewal reminder emails are not sent.
- **Renew now** is hidden in the customer portal, and renewing from the Subscriptions page is refused.
- Subscriptions stay **Active**, not paused, so loyalty progress, retention flows and your analytics are not affected. Customers can still pause, skip, cancel or edit their subscriptions in the portal.

The Renewals card shows when you froze them and how many renewals have come due since.

### Unfreezing

Click **Unfreeze renewals** and choose what happens to the renewals that came due while they were frozen:

- **Skip them** (the default): each subscription moves to its next renewal date, on its usual billing day. Nothing is charged now, except a subscription created while renewals were frozen whose first charge was due straight away: it is charged, as it would have been. With many subscriptions this can take a minute; renewals start again as soon as every date has moved.
- **Charge them now**: each missed renewal is charged at your next renewal run, which is within the hour, or at your daily time if you process renewals in bulk (**Settings > Billing and renewals > Subscription renewal time**). It is charged once, even if more than one cycle went by. Its next renewal is then counted from that charge.

If a renewal date cannot be moved, renewals stay frozen so that nobody is charged by surprise. Click **Unfreeze renewals** again to retry, or contact us.

### During a migration

When we import your subscriptions from another app, we freeze renewals first, and the Renewals card says so. Leave them frozen until your old app is uninstalled and we have switched billing on, or a customer could be charged by both apps.
